Wanted aluminium plate

I want to get a simple aluminium plate to bolt to one of these

It needs to be solid enough to put a BMW rollbag on, so around 300mm wide, by 200mm deep, not sure of the thickness, but the edges along the longer sides need turning down to stiffen it. I can finish edges, drill mounting holes etc, just need the basic shape cutting and the edges folding down (say 10mm extra folded down by 45 degrees.

Any suggestions welcome

Ask a nearby metal fabricator if you can have a rake around in their scrap skip? It helps if you're already a customer though.

I'll do a sketch and email it to them, see what sort of cost. Otherwise it seems I can get sheet ally off ebay, then set to with the tools.

Lexan [eBay] should be a good too and you can cut/bend it yourself. Cuts well witha jigsaw.

I've got some checker plate, but it looks a bit thin to me, but I'd be interested to have a shufti at yours at some point. Mother in law lives in Horndean, so over your part of the world sometimes, will PM you next time, see if you're about.
