Hi everyone, i've decided to look for a Harley, I have looked on the bay, biketrader, mcn and gumtree etc... there are a few bits about but thought id ask if anyone here is selling or knows anyone selling one or even where else I can look, the sort of thing ive been looking for and seen are 2007 ish 1200 sportster for around £4000 ish

Thanks in advance for any help

Mark

Can you stretch youre budget a bit?

If you buy a sportster you may well end up wanting. A 'Big Twin' can be found, especially this time of year, fairly reasonably price wise. If you have set your heart on a 1200 sportster then so be it. You can pick up a decent sportster for around the 4k mark, and for around 1500 quid more, a biggie. Do you know what one you want specifically??

Also, if you see one, post a link on here so as the more informed can look over it, they can spot a 'wrongun' a mile off!

Hi, I like the bigger Harleys but at the moment 4000 is my limit, im not that clued up on the various models at the moment, I quite like the blacker looking ones compared to the heavily chromed models if that makes sense, although not that fussy, but some do look a lot more appealing than others this caught my eye http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...page/2/radius/1500/postcode/rg226sf?logcode=p
what do you think?

cheers

I've been to see the P&P road king if you want my thoughts....Let me know

if it's a Sportster 1200 you are set on, then you should have plenty of choice at £4k...

Just look for the usual stuff.... They are pretty bombproof.....

Thanks for the comments i like the look of the sportster especially the nightster but think they are a bit more money, ill keep looking around, cheers

Don't ignore dealer websites as well. Certainly Stratstone price all their used bikes as lowest on the web, so there can be real bargains and they come with a warrantee as well.

A basic Dyna Glide is also a good option as often they are priced well at this time of year, you can always stick a Sportster tank on it if you must. Condition and service record are far more important than mileage.

This is the one from the link above, simple black, no chrome and £3999.... what's not to like!
