Wanted: LED parking light for my 09 1200GS

I've searched on here and on ADVrider but still cannot find a specific post about replacing the w5w 12v 5w parking light with an LED equivalent.
From what I have read and been told, LED's are susceptible to spikes in voltage that dramatically reduce their lifespan so a 14 or 16v replacement would be better or I would need to fit a voltage regulator of some description if a 12v is used.
So does anyone know if there is a specific replacement out there? :nenau
 
I fitted one of Les's LED pilot lamps onto a 09 GS .... i couldn't get the Lampf to go out unfortunately ... i have heard that on some bikes of this year will work O.K whilst other wont .... mine must be too sensitive so the std. bulb had to go back in
 
I contacted Les a couple of months ago about a LED sidelight for my 07 GSA and he could not supply any to fit without the Lampf warning (problem with that year of bike I am told), so I got some from another supplier, not cheap, £20 for 2, he may have some now but if anyone wants the spare I have £10 buys it (no Lampf warning)

I tried a few different LED bulbs bulbs that claimed to suit canbus sytems to no avail until I found the one I have fitted at present

Could you advise where you purchased these from??

Think you might find that the 12v supply on your bike is already quite well regulated.

Tried them on the 12 and in my FIAT Panda as access to the sidelights requires the dexterity of a midget gynaecologist.
Results were the same for car and bike. LEDs failed within days totally defeating the point of fitting them.
