I may be totally wrong, but I think the '3 pc' license is for up to 3 pcs owned by the same individual.

Otherwise, Ebay would be flooded with people claiming to have the license but only one installation, and offering two more for a cost :blast

If you are willing to bend the rules that much, you might as well go the full way and grab a torrent :nenau

Does it have to be 2010? I upgraded 2003 to 2007 quite cheaply.

2007 is significantly different from the old 2003, but 2010 doesn't seem to be much of an improvement on 2007.

not sure really, I have 2010 on my desktop but it came preloaded and I bought a 1 use card to register, ive just bought my daughter a laptop and Im not sure how much she will use office anyway so i didnt want to spend the circa £85 for the student version (laptop is not preloaded with office). as its a new machine i think i'll go for the latest edition because if she does use it its as well she gets used to the most recent version, i know i can help her with that.
cheers anyway al.

Just might be worth checking out open office. Totally free download, and works with Microsoft Office files. I'm not sure how fully functioned the spreadsheet and presentation sections are, but for word processing it works just fine. :thumb2
