We're visiting the Normandy beaches over a weekend during September, just wondered if anyone could recommend a decent B&B or hotel for the trip, preferably within striking distance of Caen.

Cheers
Steve

We stayed at the Hotel 6th June in the famous St Mere Eglise - hope thats spelt right. Just 3 mins gently walk from the town centre. I may still have their number at home, but if not the Tourist Office there should be able to give it to you anyway - along with an A4 size list of other B&Bs etc in the area. :thumb

We've also stayed in Caen, but just used the city centre Campanile. It was just like every other Campanile, but the parking was poor, as the bikes were left undercover but on the side of the pavement. On of our bikes was tampered with, but after "bribing" one of the staff with fags - and I think he felt sorry for us after the incident - he allowed us to use their smart underground car park.

Was there last week, and stayed at a great B&B in Honfleur, and the Hotel in St Mere Eglise, called the John Steel, after the guy who landed on the church, is great value at only 40 Euro a night with garage parking, can recomend the resturant, best meal of the week. :thumb

Thanks for your replies fellas.

Jacal, I've e-mailed your recommendation as it looks to be just about perfect in respect of location and very biker friendly. :thumb

Cheers again
