Wanted - R80 G/S or R80GS Basic for cash or PX my HP2 enduro

What's wrong with the HP2??

Actually a serious question - I have an airhead and it is nice... but it's far from an HP.

Actually a serious question - I have an airhead and it is nice... but it's far from an HP.

A serious answer: There is nothing wrong with the HP2. And I'm quite in awe of it, but it is quite… "Serious" and probably more use to someone who has the off-road skills to use it the way it was intended.

I do have some quite serious (tarmac) bikes, and while only a club standard racer can sort of use them a bit on a track, but on the road I'm probably getting old and sensible and off road I'm unfit & unskilled. So…

If I have an old, slightly rubbish airhead…

I can blame the bike! :D

Are you after something to Work on , or something to go to work ? ! .

Ideally, Something that needs nothing, but I could tinker with if I wanted to. I'm certainly not a natural polisher, but do fancy something that would be as nice admiring in the garage or a light trail or an unclassified or B road.

Based on the last few years experience, in a year I would expect to ride somewhere for two or three long weekends, with tent and friends, taking in trails, twisty little back lanes, the odd A road and (if unavoidable) the merest hint of motorway.

There would also be about 10 rides where I don't leave Northern England, but do a little light green lane exploring and a few twisty little back lanes (Yorkshire dales and NY Moors etc). Anything more serious off road I've used a trail bike, anything on a racetrack I have some more suitable bikes and if I'm going to drink tea at Squires I take my bonnie.

Please see thread below about my r65 Special. If that is not to your taste I have a lovely R100GS to tempt you.

I've always wanted a HP2 enduro. Heck I'll even build you a bespoke airhead to your exact spec for a HP2.:)

I've been following it with interest. I like:thumb2

I'm living in hope that someone has found me a perfect low mileage (but big bored, obviously) R80G/S or Basic tho;)

I've got a G/S with at least 100k on the clock and blown fork seals. All yours for the HP2 and a packet of hobnobs :thumb2

G/S & GS

I had two now i've got one, i've had them for the last 25years, not a bad old thing, but would'nt want to part with it, but I do like the look of your HP2, if you want to have a ride on my old G/S you are welcome, I bet you change your mind.

Hello Mark, I've got a lovely 96 GS basic, only 12500 miles. Few sensible and rare mods - Migsel SS side stand, sorted front break, things like that and original mint panniers etc plus all the original bits.
800's the sweetest and smoothest of the air heads and plenty of power low down I've always thought and the white power shock on the back is just great. I just sold my hp2sport so I must be a sucker for these blue and white limited boxers and always fancied a hp2e. Give me a call on 07961 300 193 if you fancy a chat.
