Mods please put this in FS&Wanted if you feel it's more appropriate..

I expect to be buying an 1150GS Adventure in the near future and will want to retro-fit it with the seat, rack etc from a standard GS.

I did this work on my last Adv and got the parts by finding someone with a standard GS who wanted to swap. This was a zero cost option and I would like to find someone who would want to do the same. The whole job takes about an hour, if I remember correctly & is very straightforward.

If this is of interest to anyone with a 1100 or 1150GS, please PM me.

Cheers,

Mike :thumb2

Vern has a spare rack, my old one, but not sure if he has the other fittings.

I could be interested in doing this... But what about the seat. Mine is in two parts rather than a single seat. Would this still work? Maybe not? I just know i would actulally prefer the rack end of later 1150 ADV...

Let me know if I have understood correctly!

Cheers

This would involve swapping the seats, seat fittings, release catch, tool tray etc from one bike to the other, leaving you with a one piece seat and me with a 2 piece...

Mike,

I've got a complete 1150GS seat, rack etc from a standard GS - in fact you can take your pick of black or red seats :D

I've enjoyed your reports on the USA etc so much, & was so gutted to see you lose your bike, you can have it gratis :thumb2

It's only taking up room in the garage, I keep meaning to flog it, but never get round to it.

If you want to, stick a donation in a cancer charity (lost my cousin this year, 3 months older than me :(), but don't feel oblidged :)

Great to meet you Jon - donation made as discussed - and I think you'll also find Paul G (BHT) has done something about extending your subscription... :augie

Thanks again,

Mike :beerjug:

PS Managed to reassemble the lock mechanism first go... :D

* Being a single man, this actually means the dining room.

In these dark days there are still people about thinking of others and not themselfs.samething happened to me a couple years ago with a tank bag for a buell. The chap sent me the bag on the understanding I made a donation to his daughters cancer care charity. I did and emailed him a copy receipt.:beerjug::beerjug:
