So I was trying out my fancy new warmnsafe jacket on my ride to work the other day...

thought i'd experiment with the thermostat...

Halfway was feeling lovely and warm, so went a bit higher with the temp just to see...back was lovely and toasty...but my front started to feel a bit stingy!

Got to work and changed into my work clothes...and look what i found!

Send the guy who owns the company an e mail with the pics. He will be back to you pronto.

Great customer care.

Looks nasty though. Not had any problems with mine.

Did you have it next to your skin or did you have a layer underneath?

Ouch.

I got a similar burn from my home made heated jacket after I first made it, but that was direct to skin where I'd sewn some loops into the collar and it was above my layer :(

Must have got pretty warm to do that

Had the same effect with my Gerbings jacket liner with T shirt underneath, usually happens when my hands are cold and I turn up the wick to compensate.
Will soon disappear.

A few years ago, I bought a second hand Spada heated jacket. I seemingly had a carbon mesh type of heater embedded within.
Standing beside the bike to test it, all zipped-up. Plugged it in and waited. Glorious heat embalmed my torso .... until, I thought it was getting a wee bit hot on the front of my left shoulder. Just imagining things I thought. Nope ... getting stingy now.
Quickly unstudding and unzipping the unfamiliar fastenings and tearing off the jacket, I found my tee shirt had a half inch hole burnt right through it and a corresponding burning hole in my shoulder. Can still see the burn mark when in the shower.
It was lucky I wasn't actually riding the bike at the time.

I later found out that many of these Spada jackets were faulty and were recalled I believe. Bloody painful ... nowadays I would have sued of course :augie

have you ever contacted me about this? is it a generation 3 or 4? i have seen this on one person where the size was wrong and it was folding over and turned up way too high. remember it is heat elements. we have people commuting at 20F and so just turning up the heat is not enough to do this. so i need more information.

Interesting customer service response.....someone else turned up the heat too high but... turning up the heat can't cause that...? So it is Stigmata then! :popcorn

is yours the remote control version? On my jacket that's where the remote control receiver sits in the jacket pocket. the slight extra pressure always means that area is slightly warmer than the rest of the jacket.

That said, in nearly 3 years of regular use I've had it turned up high on occasion and never seen anything like that.

Hope you get it resolved. Customer service from warmnsafe eu has been exemplary for me.
