Fellow Tossers,

Please be advised that all you naughty bikers who may use the above lanes in the big smoke that the boys in Blue, pacifically traffic police, are having a purge on catching motor bikers using these lanes.

This morning I was confronted by having our main access into our main car park (Lower Thames Street EC3R) blocked by the police stopping bikers and then pulling them into this area, and then subsequently issuing the bad boys with on-the-spot fines of £30. In fact as I went out to let them know that unfortunately they would have to move their operation away from our business premises entrance, that they were dealing with so many offender's that they could not cope with the custom :pullface

Be aware :rob

Graeme ;)

All down to the new Boris bikes! Any of the new blue cycle lanes outlined by a solid white line is for pedal cycles only! :ronno

Yes, correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's not a solid line, it isn't a cycle lane/bus lane/whatever lane.

They always have purges on bike lines and the advanced stop lines. **** 'em. They've never caught me in about 100k of inner London miles.

Anyway, if its £30, it sounds like they're a cheaper method of making progress than non-TfL bus lanes :)

That sounds like the City police again. They had a purge on the advanced stop lines recently.

It's not the Met Traffic police in central London.

Bill

However, I would like to congratulate the City Plod as they have been having a purge on cyclists going through red lights, pavements etc.

Sat in the company car in heavy traffic on Wandsworth bridge last week inching towards Chelsea and feeling very bored, then got entertained by two coppers pulling all the cyclists who were using the pavement as a shortcut around the traffic.:thumb2

Some of the looks of disbelief on the cyclists faces, feigned innocent gestures and pathetic excuses were well amusing.:D

What, the boxes at the front with the drawing of a bike or the blue ones in particular?
