Hi,

Does anyone know the correct designation of the bulbs for the warning lights of a 2001 R1150GS ABS.
The haynes manual is vague, listing 3 Watt & 1.7 Watt bulbs but does not mention what type of fitting. MaxBMW & OEM parts fisches are also confusing, listing 14V3W & 12V1.7W (14Volt can't be right can it ?).
So if anyone knows which wattage bulb is for which warning light & what the connection fittment designation is, it would save me dissasembling & reassembling just to view the bulbs.
I ask because the GS is my only means of transport & is used all year round.

Kind regards & thanks in advance
Paul.

This will be an interesting thread. The warning light (petrol) on mine must be blown as it never comes on anymore. Is this what yopur talking about ? That type of bulb ?

Dial up the "Bobs BMW" site, look up the spares list and get the part no,
all your probs will be over just see your friendly BMW dealer.

I spent a couple of hours looking in various motor factors to replace the backlight bulbs in my 1100, they just did not look like any of their carded bulbs, its because the bulb part is bigger on the original bulbs, the bottom contact part is all glass with just the contact wires barely visible, the ones that fit are labelled "tiny capless" sorry I forgot the number but they are standard dashboard bulbs certainly the same as fitted to my Citroen cars, again from memory 3w sounds about right.
