WARNING no more unlock codes for version 9

WTF??????

are the unlock codes specific to the type of v9 you have??
i have the v9 disc just need the code

I am now completely baffled

I have CNE V9 DVD, I installed this earlier this year on my pc and it works fine......

I recently bought a new laptop specifically to be able to do routes when travelling for my 2610....

BUT when I load the V9dvd and enter the unlock codes....I get a version which does not have the detailed level mapping!!!!

So i email garmin and get a story about new V10 coming out next year, BUT I dont want the new version I just want the V9 to work on another pc!!!

you've done something wrong... if it was unlocked... and you load the same mapping with the same codes it should open to all the map detail

. .I bought a Quest 1 some months ago; loaded with V.6. I paid $88 to acquire the disc V.9, went thro' the whole procedure to update but damned if the unit will shift from V.6 . . am I shafted with the same problem?

yep, you are right, Gary, I did something wrong!!!!

had 2 unlock codes...entered both of them, no change....then looked at version number in 'utlities', looked like I had version 6.11.06...then tabbed down to all the later versions shown as loaded, up to and including CNE V9

then checked how detailed map was and

its detailed! (and it was all along, just put it down to a senior moment!)

all I have to do now (!) is log onto garmin and update software/mapsource to synchronise the format of .gdb files I have stored (routes), as on PC they are version 3.gdbs and on laptop they are version 2.gdbs, mr garmin cannot tell me why they are different, they just are, see!

No more '2 units' policy

Having just bought a (hardly) used 2610, I wanted to shift the 'second unit' code from my old SP3 to the new unit.

No go. Garmin won't entertain that; as previously reported v9 isn't available, and worst of all, as of the next release, there will be NO 'second unit' unlocking available. Have 2 units? You'll need to buy 2 separate unlock codes.

Now on my 6th Garmin and for the first time ever I feel they are letting me down.

When i read this thread I was getting worried as I had bought a Nuvi300 as a xmas gift a few months ago .I had got the update to NT v9 Dvd as well so i could update the unit when i gave it at xmas.Today i rang Garmin and they confirmed my worries,definately NO MORE UNLOCK CODES FOR V9!! and I would have to pay for V10 when it comes out next year..They also said there would be no more free updates to v10 if you now buy a unit with old software on it .They suggested I take up the matter with Asda as they should not have been selling units with old software so there could be quite a few dissapointed people this xmas.
