Anyone ever had to try and get warranty work supported at another dealer ??

Fuel strip issue which was first sorted in Aug 2014 (2 yr) warranty I believe ?

Now I'm the new owner does anyone know if I will get the BMW support from my nearest dealer even though it was previous owners bike when first sorted ??

I do have all the relevant paperwork

he's 140 miles away otherwise it might have been easier to get done there......

If it was first fixed under warranty you won't have a warranty on it. If it was paid for though you have 2 years and any dealer will sort it out for you.

Hi Rob, had the same thing on my 2008 gs, I was told once I had paid ,BMW would honour any other problems with fuel strip with no length of time given!
mud sling on its way

Thx mate.... well I only found out about this fuel strip issue 2 hrs after owning the bike and cutting out in the fast lane of the bloody M40 !!!

I imported my bike from the Middle East and had warranty work done today so I cannot see you having a problem.

Thx for advice boys.... and this will be my back up quote should anyone raise an eyebrow !!

I've had guys on my trips get warranty work done in the USA so a local dealer shouldn't bitch too much:thumb

Warranty is separately run frame dealerships. The dealers do the work and pass the costs on to the warranty division. Should not be a problem
