I've just had a look around other sections trying to find requests for routes/accom/pubs, trying to suss out just how frequent these requests are in the other Sections.

Even the Irish Section doesn't get anywhere near the same amount of requests as the Scots section - even though their message traffic is above ours. Wales pales into insignificance regarding route requests and so do all the other sections. So comparing responses in other sections does not give any meaningful weight to your argument.

I also noticed that some requests for routes in the Scots Section go unanswered by anyone. What should we deduce from that? Does it mean that there is no-one at all in the Scots Section willing to help out? I think not.
There's more than the 'usual suspects' post on here - yet there is still a deafening silence from everyone on some request threads. Why?

I'd say that the lack of enthusiasm from everyone when it comes to posting replies stems from a general antipathy towards endless requests for the most basic information. All Ronno has done is voice that opinion.
And it is an opinion shared by me, I've been more than happy to point out roads etc in the past and will continue to do so where I see fit. But sometimes I just look and think "can't you do at least a bit of legwork yourselves?"

But, if someone dares voice that opinion, then it's open season as far as some are concerned. Perhaps we should just post back-slapping messages and not bother with anything that has a bit of bite.

I couldn't see the point of such an aggressive post "were you the twat?" (this not even put in the thread that caused the annoyance) and as I work in the tourism industry I'm perhaps a little sensitive to anything that may put people off coming up here.

But this bollocks would be enough to put anyone off asking anything about Scotland again, in case their post was deemed inadequate in some way by one or two 'personalities' here.

Yeah, some questions get asked again and again, but as someone else (Klanky?) pointed out these can be (and sometimes are) ignored completely. The original post smacks more of Begbie chucking his pint glass over his shoulder to start a battle in Tainspotting than anything else. It's all a bit pointless really, isn't it?

Without wishing to get all "Begbie" on your ass, ThreeDawg, I see you've got in that tired, old "people being put off by one or two personalities" shite.

Well, here's a news flash. I've deliberately posted next to feck all in here for about 6 or 7 months. It seems some senstive souls were intimidated by me so I took a back seat and left posting stuff, organising runs, events and guff like that to others.

I was hoping people like yourself would step up to the mantel and inject a bit of humour or at least interest in the place. New blood and ideas and all that.
