The 09 must be the best as the end of a production run you would hope it would have all the faults ironed out,I'd not buy a new model in the first year as i don't want to be the test mule, imoa the 10 bike is a 1/2 update while they finish the real new GSA design, wasser boxer anyone?

Maybe it's because mine was destined for the German market and they build em better for that and the bikes built for the UK market are all built on a friday afternoon![]()

Looking at all the various threads on recalls it got me thinking why mine hasn't had a single onebeing in the Forces I bought mine from Germany and imported it so I thought I'd just been missed for any recall notices, phoned dealer today with chassis number and he informs me that my bike isn't outstanding any recalls, so no ring antenna, no fuel pump controller, no ABS wiring and no brake unions falling apart. So either my dealer is full of sh*t or BMW finally got it right in 2006 and should have stopped there, in fact maybe it's just my bike that they got right and is in fact the pinnacle of German engineering and everything else before and since is poo

I've done 37000 miles on my 06 1200 GSA and it's been all over the place from Ukraine, Moldova and throughout western europe. The only problem I've had is the replacement of the front engine plate on warranty. Have serviced it myself for the last 3 times as it's out of warranty.
I've obviously been fairly lucky!
As mine is a 06 --- ermm I wish, had a host of probs with mine the latest is the front end judder under breaking, its a real pain and seems to be getting worse. I'm off to my mates today to try his front wheel on my bike, this will hopefully eliminate a prob with the wheel and discs.
Tried so far, new pads front and back, new rear disc, had front discs professionally checked and they were only 3 thou out (should be acceptable).
