I am reliably informed there are presently floods in Switzerland around Zurich. They have had terrible storms this last week.

Actually it was not cold at all that day, I was up there with 8 bikes from here on the same day. Different story today as the road is closed by heavy snow http://www.grossglockner.at/de/service/webcams2/
Hopefully they will get it open for bikes by Wednesday, maybe even tomorrow.
as I have another group itching to get up there.

Glrossglockner is brill.
I spent 3 weeks testing jaguars there once.
It was a bit less snowy though

was there all last week with pidcocks bmw, a great bunch of bikers, spent 2 sunny days on the pass and up to the glacier, it was a bit cool at the top but it still didn't detract from what an awesome road the pass is and definitely worth going out of your way to do it

A good time of the year to go. I went mid summer and it was absolutely packed out.
