Wasselonne / Obernai area

[Sneldog]

I need an overnight stop in the Wasselonne / Obernai area in June. The crowd I am riding with like to be in a town where there is a decent restaurant or two and a central area with good bars and a bit of liveliness and bustle. I have never been to either of these towns so not sure where to aim for.

Any advice on where might fit the bill would be most welcome.

as recommended by many here, stay in one of the sister hotels in the centre of Obernai. My group was in Le Colombier in May which has its own garage and La Diligence is nearby.
We dined in a couple of restaurants and liked this Winestub https://maps.app.goo.gl/p4HuxQpoLJxqCsE16 rather than the touristy Les Halles aux Bles in the main square. Plenty of other choice.

I’ve stayed in Obernai several times.hotel La Dilligence is good. Be careful though. Tuesday is half day closing, even some of the restaurants close.
The EU parliament has a week in Strasbourg each month so it’s difficult getting hotels that week.
