Regular punters on UKGSer will know that Sycomoto's son Ross is involved on the junior race circuit and is, who knows, maybe a star for tomorrow?

I thought it might be fun to watch him in action at the Whilton Mill round, Sunday 15 July.

For those interested I propose to run a ride up there, leaving Chelmsford at 09:00 on a cross-country route, probably via Buntingford, Baldock, Woburn sort of thing. Bring a packed lunch and we'll stop for a coffee somewhere along the line.

Syco' tells me:

Hi Richard, the format on the Sunday is the start of warm up for all at 9am then it's a constant flow of races through out the day. Ross races in two classes so he's out racing 6 times during the day. In total there is 8 classes racing and each have three races so you'll get to see a fair bit of action over the course of a day.
Both Ross and I would be very happy to have a bunch of tossers turning up to support him and we look forward to it.

I will circulate a Garmin route nearer the time and we'll use the marker 'off system'.

Open to all, just ping up here if you are up for it.

Richard

For those of us unable to make it a few snaps of the young 'un would be welcome :thumb2

Unlike some of the dads I try not to fiddle with the bikes too much once we're at a race. Appart from tyres and the odd fix :thumb2

Just sorry I can't make it to see him this year .. and the way things are going for him and me it'll probably be when he's in BSB .... so tell him to reserve me a Paddock Pass :D

What's his lap times round that circuit? - I've done a few Endurance races round there over the years. Great track. :thumb

Opts you mean Wilton. Below is kinsham lap, have alook at the milestone thread in the pub for on bike footage, it's kinda scarey.
At Wilton on the full track he's doing 1.02 laps but we could go alot quicker once we stop him being scared of the place. He's had his biggest crashes there and it's left him abit shy of the place.

Yesterday was 50.6seconds. I'm told a young master stoner did it in 49.5 on a minimoto:clap the carts do it a fair bit quicker and a 160cc pitbike with a light rider can do 50seconds. We were talking to chaz yesterday and he recons with abit of work we could get Ross into the 49s but as he explained now we're at this speed any improvements are going to be in the 100th second. It's taken time but I think we're there now:D

Time to bump this up the social calendar.....

I have invited the ex-cook along, to enliven proceedings :D

Might join you for this, although Ill be nipping down from Leicestershire, so won't be able to join for the run up from shandy drinking country. I'll keep my eye on this thread and arrange to meet you there.:thumb

Charlie, let's discuss at Classic Le Mans.

Jphnnyboy, hope to see you there.... I will wear my 'Quins shirt, instantly recognisable to anyone from Leicestershire :D

Richard,
Give me a shout during the week before the 15th, and we'll sort out a meeting spot en route.
Have good time at Le Mans :thumb2

Sorry chaps.

Time, assorted Wanders, the imminent arrival of my own holiday and the need to organise my daughter (and bits on my own life) means that Sunday is now looking very doubtful.

I just can't see how I can fit it all in.
