It had to happen eventually - will seriously consider it, if it is launched in 2013.

I thought the water cooled boxer engine for the next GS/GSA was common knowledge? 
Dealers had confirmation from BMW that there will be no watercooled GS for 2012. Maybe in the long run. Just before the new emision regs are made law is my guess.

Spoke to my local dealer about a month ago and he said no plans for a watercooled engine. But I suppose they would say that so that we don't put off buying for the next 2 years waiting for the new one to come out

Just read MCN today, the article says that it's highly unlikely the water cooled GS/GSA will be launched before 2013, which agrees with what the dealers are saying. Not that I believe everything that's written in MCN though.
