Hi All!
It's probably 'cause i'm thick i know but, first wash of my 1200gs (purchased 10 Dec '05) and all the excess water sits inbetween the fins of the cylinder head!! after a couple of miles i could boil an egg in there...what's going on? Now having said that it's a f****** awesome ride!

Not thick Jarvo. "They all do that sir" :D

Nothing to worry about. :thumb

Wait till you do a fords rideout - you can poach salmon in em then :D

Well done for buying a GS.
I always blow the water off my bike after washing it using compressed air. You would be amazed at the quantity held between the fins.

Why are you surprised at this?

Nothing to worry about ! Happens all the time and after about 20 mins riding the water has boiled completely and has evaporated. After which you can put on 2 rashers of bacon and fry an egg to keep you going :D

Try laying a chipolata sausage and a few slices of onion in each groove between the fins then wrap the cylinder head in tin foil. About 15 miles at 55 mph should do it. Don't forget your finger rolls.

Hey presto, instant hot dogs when you stop :thumb

here in australia we use the cylinders for portable BBQ's - after a ride - whip the steaks out and chuck 'em on. Roadkill is even more handy though.

I use the wifes hair dryer to blow the water out ;)

Is her hair made of 30A mains cable, by any chance? If not, it must take a while to shift the water :D

The garden leaf blower does the job.....also makes leathering the bike down a bit easier in winter :thumb

I just drilled a small hole at the bottom of the fins, so all the water could run out. Going to fire her up soon and see if my mod worked.

If you drill straight through the bore it allows the water to be drawn in and blown out of the exhaust, you may note a drop in performance and poor starting though :D

Please put that drill away,I'm joking
