after looking at the pictures and reading that a number of GSes had water in the final drive box after the fording run at Princetown I got wondering where the water got in.
My guess would be via the breather vent on top of the box. If this is true, has anyone tried to build a hi-level breather or even a low level one with a bend in it so it does not syphen, out of rubber hose .
It would be interesting to see if it made any difference on a ford run, it might save a few bob on knackered bearings.
