I'm looking for some new boots, but they need to be waterproof. And there's some criteria i'm struggling to meet...

Must a race style boot (not looking for an enduro style)
Must not be black
Must have a high level of protection

I fancy the Sidi Cobra, but the waterproof version is only in...black! And herein seems to lie the problem. Every flipping boot that is classified as waterproof is black :(

Am i missing any brands? I've looked at Sidi, Gaerne, TCX, Held, .....and others i can't remember.

Thoughts welcome!

Thanks guys. Tried sportsbikeshop...no luck.

Will look at the Daytonas, but aren't they black and horribly expensive?

Feck me.... You want boots with three must have qualities:

Must a race style boot (not looking for an enduro style)
Must not be black
Must have a high level of protection

... AND you want them cheap, too....

Just buy the Daytona boots and call it a job done, they'll last you for years.... Or at least until your next fashion nightmare.

PS Import them from a German outlet (see several threads with ideas on who to use) or use their competitive prices to haggle yourself a deal closer to home.

He's also missing the most important quality of them all, comfort ! No use having a boot if it hurts like hell.

My Daytonas are like wearing a pair of slippers !

I remember being told by an old guy when I was a youngster (it must have been a long time ago!) a sage piece of advice:

Always buy the best boots and bed you can afford, because if you're not in one, you're in the other. :aidan

I wonder if Altberg would do coloured ones?

King Rat. I like that adage. Very wise.

Wapping. I've become a discerning old git in my old age!

I've had good experience with good quality rave boots, from a comfort perspective and always aim for the best protection (for a road/race boot I mean). They're are some good rave boys out there but why all the waterproof versions are black is beyond me!

I'll take a closer look at the Daytona boots. I'll be in Germany again soon so I'll try and make a detour.

Delete waterproof from your requirements and buy some Sealskinz waterproof socks. They work, increase your choice of boots massively and the price points will reduce as you won't be paying Gore for the use of their very expensive membrane material.

Packer. Interesting idea and one that had fleetingly passed my mind... I'll look into it. Cheers
