Waterproof box required

To fit the Garmin Quest power supply electronics. I've been to maplin and there stock are not waterproof and have thin plastic. I'm after something a little more "Ram Mount" quality. Scanned ebay but to no avail.

Size: 10cm L, 1cm H, 6cm W

Ideas?

Just in case you've not thought of it .. You may need to look beyond the box if your going on your travels to some warm spots this year .. as the car Vreg chipset is different from the Vreg chipset Garmin use on their bike mount and ..ditto same .. for QPAC.

The car unit is rate to 50 deg C rated while the bike version is higher at 125 deg C rated.

... From the murks of memory, I recall tests, where outside temp in sunlight was 30-odd Deg C and temp sensor probe inside QPAC case was just over 90-odd Deg C.

Again from murks of memory. If internal battery is flat, QPAC Vreg will burst 1.1amps for a minute to give life to Quest, then fall back to 700mA and run continuous for 2 hours and give full battery, then trickle at 200mA and will draw same if connected directly to bike battery circuit.

I am looking into the 'means and methods' to power other devices on bikes (see post in equipment & toys) for those xplorer's and adventurer's .. as many ideas sound fine .. until they are used in conditions which far exceeds their intended use.

Waterproof box.

Go to any electrical wholesalers there are wide ranges of plastic boxes available which are very tough and very waterproof and robust,
And they will probably be quite cheap.

The Garmin car charger is rated at 2A - I only ask as intention to power a PDA from it as well. 200mA trickle is a lot for a switching supply - or is it a Vreg chip?

Newer Garmin car chipset is 125C rated see here:

It will also do 3A not 2A.
