My pride and joy now has to live outside for a while so can anyone recommend a good waterproof bike cover for the 1200GS-A?

my 1150gsa lives outside... ive got a canvas bike cover made for the honda gold wing size... this was the only one they had so thought would try it.. fits perfect.. wouldnt want anything smaller.. canvas good because dont have to worry about waiting till bike cool... wont melt like some plastic covers...

OXFORD do some brilliant totally waterproof bike covers (Black plastic covered non scratch fabric) - the extra large touring model one will fit your GSA. This is the largest that they make but has loads of room and has eylets for your lock to go through, so as well as being locked onto your bike it would be harder to steal the actual cover.

Chris - just checked out the Oxford cover it's called STORMTEX. The great thing about it is, as well as been totally waterproof it has a soft non scratch fabric lining which is important as the wind moving a cover around on the bike can play havoc with the paintwork and screen. I have used one on my RT for two years, not a mark on the bike and bone dry inside.

You beat me to it. The stormex fits my 1200 perfectly and the 1150 adv before that. Heat resistant as well so I throw it over the bike straight after a run with no probs. (once I have locked the bugger up 1st). About £50 I think but well worth it.:thumb

I'm not sure the Stormex will fit the ADV ie with the cover touching the floor
all round,
there's a seller on ebay who sells XL stormex covers but Oxford only
make medium and large

I've got one of these large Oxford Stormex covers on my 12GS, goes over the panniers and lies about 3-4 ins of the ground. I guess it might sit a little higher on a GSA but still good. I have bought several bike covers from Simon at Forest Edge, there's one now as item 230064345085. No connection with the business other than as a customer; this is my second Stormex cover, the first was stolen a couple of years ago, I got the current one when I bought the GS and can highly recommend it.

Stormex size L

Hi there, just to check that the Oxford Stormex cover will fit a 1200GS with the panniers still on? I'm thinking of getting for one unless anyone has got any other better suggestions.
Cheers

I have the 2 Vario panniers and topbox and need a cover. Will the large Oxford still be suitable with the topbox?

I have a Motrax heavy duty motorcycle cover (waterproof and huge) which has some soft fabric inside, but only on the rear, and reinforced oval holes front and rear for tether or chain. So I put my green cotton cover on first then put the Motrax cover over the top of this.

Only extra precaution I took was to put duck tape over the brass eyelets on the green cover.

Should sort the danger of scuffing ... might even leave her all nice and shiny!
