I'm currently in the throws of piecing together my on bike (57 plate GSA 1200) music solution - here's what I'm doing:-
> RAM Aqua Box to hold my i pod (early model) in place (comes with 3 pieces of pre cut foam of different depths, same lengths & widths). It has a flush fitting clear cover to allow access to i pod control dial - i've tested it and it works v well. Closes v firmly, and has a base/lid loop to allow for a small padlock to add extra security
> RAM U bolt (to fit onto the screen bar) with 2" arm + diamond base to secure onto the back of the aqua box
> I've got the a/com lead to plug into the headphone socket of the i pod already, and that works a treat thru the a/com hub
> I've purchased a powerlet i pod charge cable (PPC-012-DB) from Burnsmoto.com (in California, USA), which will enable me to have the i pod charging on the go, as it will connect directly onto the battery terminals. It is also in line fused. It's worth noting, that Burnsmoto.com also carry 2 other charge cables for newer models of i pod & i phone
Now, the leads...both leads when connected to the i pod in the aqua box need to be fed behind the pre cut foam and thru the aperture @ the rear (when purchased, the aperture is not open, but with a tool or two, the plastic cover that fills it needs to be punched out)
This is not all fitted to the bike yet, but I've been meticulously jigsawing/planning this and will have it fitted by the end of Oct.
Cheers
