Mr Bleep...I've taken the liberty of changing your post title somewhat..I suspect being more aposite to your requirements may get you a better response....

Do you want to switch the lights independently of the dip & main beams ??

Since the 1200 has AHO it would be easier to tap the relay off the dip beam, the 1200 will allow this due to the difference in bulb wattages in some EU countries, you'll get away with the relay.

There are watterproof switches available at Maplins, RS or Farnells or you could try Bardwells on Abbeydale Road first.
Also there are boots available for regular switches, I have an Illuminated push switch for my fogs mounted under the instrument cluster and wjhile not waterproof its sheltered and I have had no problems with it.

Have you got that crap led rearlight changed yet.??

eyup jim.

what i intend to do is wire them from the battery.

also that led light panel that you was sooooooo woried about has been returned to normans,,he's tested it and said it's a faulty unit and not as bright as it should be,,he's sending me another one thats ok,,get your light meter out again jimbo eh?

I have a standard push button fitted into the left hand side of the tool box. Just put your left hand under your leg and turn them on or off. As most of my aux lighting originates from the tool box it seemed common sense to locate the switch in the same location. Doesn't need to be waterproof cos it hard gets wet. Aux lights are powered by relay from the dip light but I wanted the option of turning them off hence the switch.

Why not use the Autoswitch or Rob Farmers switch? with these you use the indicator cancel button, works a treat.

Do a search on Autoswitch for more info

Had a look at the Canbus circuits prefer to keep away from that area, mine is completely seperate and retains the integrity of the original bike loom. Your bike your choice.

Great idea gazza.

just one prob with my bike,,i have the side panels from wundelich fitted and now have no access to the tool box.

got plenty of time to come up with a solution now anyway cos lightbar not gonna be ready for a few months.
