There was a post a couple of years ago where a company made waterproof panel mounted USB sockets, they also sold the waterproof leads that came from the socket to the accessory eg go pro, drift etc

Can not seem to find them now, anyone got any idea where or who made them

I think you may be thinking of 3BR in the USA. We stock their TAPP CAP waterproof kit for waterproofing USB cables and also USB sockets (not 3BR). See pic.

We've only just started to work with them so not everything is on our website yet.

Drop me an email if interested.

Hi Colin.

Is it fair to say these TAPP CAPS are the same rubber covers that the Burnsmoto guy in the US did with the addition of some amalgamating tape around the top? That's what it looks like on the BR website....?

On the picture of the double USB socket. If one of the USB sockets are being used, surely that leaves the other socket exposed to the elements and therefore not waterproof as the cover clearly cannot be fitted if one socket is charging a phone for example.

I say this because I have just bought a similar one from the Adventure shop. Its a right angle coming out of the socket on mt GSA LC but has two ports for USB. My worry was exactly this. If I am charging my phone what about the other socket?

Hi, I have the bar mounted double USB socket with a rubber weatherproof cap (similar to the one in the picture). I had the same concern and so would only use it when it is not going to get wet. If you want to be able to use a charger whatever the weather, a possible solution is a tank bag with a power connector built in? The SW Motech website may be worth a look as they sell them.

To be honest I don't know as I can't see that on the burnsmoto site. However, I think burnsmoto do sell some of the 3BR stuff.
