I've had a HG two piece for the last year. Don't know the model but, it was about £70. It has waterproof pockets in the jacket and trousers and is the most waterproof suit I've had. Only minor critism is that when it's rolled up it still takes up a fair bit of space, filling the left hand side pannier completely (12GS OE pannier)

Good point Bob, I don't generally travel with panniers on so I want something I can roll up and locate someplace under the seat or on the tail rack.

I bought one of those Ldl 'specials' the other week - it was either £4.99 or £9.99 - brilliant! :thumb Totally waterproof, only downside is that it doean't have one of the stuff sacks built in....

I've got one of these too - I think it was £9.99! Whilst I agree with the Sarge that there is no built in stuff sack, it does roll up very small compared to my other one piece with a built in stuff sack.

Totally waterproof and exceptional value for money!

PS It's a one piece!

I've got 3 HG one piece suits - the unlined were £3 each, and the lined was £5 - at the BMF rally, so i stocked up. - all totally waterproof.
The proper price is £20 and £30 , i wouldn't hesitate to buy then at the full price -

one piece suits are great for summer, just stash it on the bike and go .

Thanks for that, might give Lidl a visit this afternoon. :thumb

Robbo - I aslo got the Lidl suit recently but went for the 2 piece.

Keep the trousers in the top box all the time - it is Ireland after all ;) - and use them regularly. Don't use the jacket on the bike as I don't think it would fit over the HG Tuareg but as this is fully waterproof there's no need.

Have used the jacket while out walking & its great - waterproof & light.

For the money - about €18 or £12 - the set was great value :D

I bought a Hein Gerieke one piece for £30 about 5yrs ago. When it gets dirty enough I use nikwax tech-wash to clean it then their reproofing, both wash in treatments. The suit still keeps me dry no matter how heavy the rain. Prior to this I used a two piece which was definately quicker/easier to put on but I find the one piece keeps me slightly warmer during the winter. The only thing I will change if/when it gets replaced is to buy one with a bum bag fitted.

Just back from Lidl but they didn't have any suits :anger: so I guess its start again time.......

i got a goretex lightweight jacket and trousers from an army surplus stall for £25 and its loose enough to go over my riding gear quickly and ive recently seen goretex overmitts at £9 will get some of them despite the extra trigger finger

I've got a cheap HG one works a treat. I wouldn't use overmits as I use two finger braking. Handlebar muffs are what you need for warm dry hands :D

I've had two sets so far. The first was a Hein gericke one piece for £30. This included a sort of satin type liner as well as a textile collar to spare me some chaffing. I only used this over my summer kit (HG Air 2 piece suit: essentially gauze with some padding: excellent in summer and as an emergency road-side collander, in case you get the urge to strain paste on the hard shoulder).

At a push it would probably fitted over my cordura goretex IXS kit, but by the very nature of Gtex, that was not necessary.

It also keeps the winter cold out even when wearing just my summer suit underneath (easier to pack away at work). The suit worked very well and saw a lot of use but only lasted 1 year before the zip gave up around the waist-line (don't say a word).

So I was without until a friend bought a pair that were too big and gave them to me: she boutght them in Lidl (the German food market type place)!! The finish is not qute so good and I suspect the may not last more than the year but they are waterproof and only cost £10 new!

Hot tip: always carry a plastic bag in yoiur Wproof pocket, big enough to fit over a boot: put your foot into it before trying to pull waterproofs over your boot, remove and use on other leg and voila, no cursing trying to get big bike boot sole through rubberised suit leg= less road side swearing and scaring of passersby.
