Waxoil

Saw earlier threads about winterproofing and liked the idea of spraying the bike with waxoil and not washing it 'till March. So...off to Halfords, grabbed a couple of cans off the shelf, gave the bike a good wash and dry, shook the first can as directed, took careful aim at the enging block....and covered the whole thing in what looked like treacle toffee!!


Top tip #7: Check the can for colour. Clear is good. Black is not good. Doh!

Still at least I don't have to wait weeks for the road grime to make it look crap.

Think I'll slope off to the bar.

i did exactly the same - as soon as i saw it was brown, i rushed out a bought chain-wax instead, sprayed it on and found that it dried luminous green!!

so i'm now riding around on a machine that looks more chernobyl than Gelände Strasse ;-)

That makes me feel so much better.

Do you think if I showed this to my therapist they'd let me out on my own again?
