WC 1250 GS

All ready to be unleashed upon BMW's army of enthusiastic, naive beta testers who will find all the problems BMW should have found in the first place and watch their bikes fall apart in front of their eyes. I've been there and will never buy another BMW.

Caveat emptor. If you're tempted, I recommend waiting 2-3 years whilst they sort the mess out, or be prepared to spend quality time with your dealer.

Like the 2-3 years its taken to sort out the 1200, my twin cams gone and like you, never again. :blagblah

I'm looking at circa 2008 GSAs so the beta testing will be well sorted before I start looking at kettle version.

Looks a lot better than I expected. But how does 238kg compare to the current bike in the same state.

Really? Wow!

Might have to get one. I'll be booking a test a test ride ASAP. Always thought 130-140 bhp would be perfect in a gs for my uses and that looks achievable with a pipe etc.

I'm guessing that the first unveiling in the UK will be at MCN Live on 24th November. That's going to be a long few weeks.:comfort

I think I will wait for the adventure as I'm loving my new twin cam.

I've no bike, so am waiting, but for an adventure :D

I just hope the throttle response is not as on off as the Explorer, or I'll have to wait for the updated version the new bike!

If it had a 24 litre tank (and improved mpg) I don't think the Adventure would get a look in for the majority of buyers :)

Note worthy from those pics the bike is being "marketed" as far more road bais machine looking at the tyres. Also not much precence of handguards either.

I'd better get on the for sale forum and off load my extras ,the only thing that looks like they may fit are my crash bobbins :blast:blast:flag

Handguards were an option on my 1200, back in 2004.

There's plenty of "enduro" promo footage of the new bike if you look.

:rob

Some very nice detailed pictures over on Adventure rider by someone who was at Intermot.

I have to say that in the round I think they've done a fabulous job. Let's just hope the reliability and build quality stand up to the test of time.:D

Few things I spotted on the advrider pics - sorry if they've been mentioned before:

Conventional indicator switch
Looks like another crappy horn
Lots of outward-facing tube on the frame for water to sit in and start rusting!
Flimsey plastic bits that wont take much to wreck off road.
Can't work that headlight out! Going to need someone else to explain it to me!
I'd like to see some wind-tunnel test results on the screen's effectiveness.

What are the tyres on the show stand bike? I don't recognise them.

Yes that's my take on it as well. Complete speculation but maybe the adventure will go a little more hard core off road.
