Well day 1 in the dirt and how did it go? It went well!

The Enduro Pro mode is where you want to be, and even then if you give it a handful coming out of a loose corner the TC light comes on!!!! My understanding was that the Enduro Pro mode turns everything off and makes it an old school bike??? Not the case.
To be fair though it only comes in at the limit and still leaves plenty of room for some serious fish tailing around.

I didn't go mad as I was alone (mental I know) and it was day one but in a couple of hours I was convinced the big old bus can do way more than I was pointing it at.

The throttle response and fuelling is PERFECT and I pick my words carefully. Granted, this particular beast has had a visit to the wizards at HillTop but it really was that good. The torque is staggering, I was in 3rd gear on some slippy climbs and it just kept plugging away with no signs of a stall.

To get the back end flicking out on a 200KG plus bike really is a blast but once you have done it a dozen times and dialled in when the TC kicks in thats when it comes into its own.

I started green laning in 2006 on my 1200GS but this thing has moved the game on quite a bit.

<a href="http://s1195.photobucket.com/user/munnyman44/media/photo2-23.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa390/munnyman44/photo2-23.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo photo2-23.jpg"/></a>

I tried ringing its neck in road mode but literally NOTHING happens when it detects the dirt.

Enduro Mode itself seems like a waste of time as the TC kicks in way to early.

For me the bike needs two modes, Enduro Pro and DYNA.

I rode about ten miles home in DYNA and it was breathtaking. The throttle response is instant and the handling spectacular ( even with part worn TKC 80`s).

It`s brilliant and I love it, Anyone that disagrees with this is a big fat queer with a tiny knob!!!!!

Oh yeah, The gearbox is a mix of bolt action rifle and prodding a poker in a basket full of coal. But I don't care:)

Nice one, Gaz. That's one tricked up GS.:thumb Did it come with the black spoked wheels, or did you buy them seperately?

Good to see a normal LC GS doing this and not the lardy, gay, adventure version :D

You've gotta be kidding? Look at that first photo again , it looks lardier than a lard thing with extra lard dolloped on top! I've got to say I've never seen the WC looking so bloated and cumbersome!

SkyGod, tell me this is a PS image? :D

Going back to the mode thing on that thread a short time back aussie toilets what mode is that fella running fot that monster stand up wheekie on dirt..?

I have just come in from a pretty tedious meeting and this post has cheered me right up. I have not yet tried Enduro pro and will be looking forward to the weekend when I might get a chance. Like you say Dynamic is very useful.:beerjug:

Sky-God, nice report and good photos, don't forget that you only need to hold down the little button on the left handle bar for just 2 seconds to remove all of the electro-gubbins and have a normal bike and no T/C.

Enjoy!

He would have turned all his TC off, otherwise even in Enduro pro, the sensors would eventually pick up on the fact that his back wheel is travelling faster than his front .... :thumb2

Erm... the rear wheel is smaller than the front. When does it travel slower:D

You know what I mean! Front wheel in the air starts to loose speed ....

Dealer activated. Should have been done at your 600 mile service ...

There is a plug under the seat plus a capped off socket next to the ECU under the seat.
Remove seat and pop out plug that's clipped into the seat, plug it in the capped off socket by ECU and that's enduro pro mode activated.
Once activated I was told by bmw that when you switch back to road mode you will need to turn on TC and ABS again.

Here you go young man, half way down page 5 :thumb

As Enduro Pro is most suited to advanced off road riding, make sure you have a sensible grown up with you at all times :D

Come on Gaz those lanes are smoother than a smooth thing, get some pics up of you going up Hollinsclough or Tenterhill :thumb

great pics ,ive got the same bike same colour had it a few weeks ,after seeing yours iv put tkc.s on mine .But wanted to know what psi your running on as i normally run 25psi on my tennere but thought to run a bit more on the gs so put 35 in rear and 30 in front but wanted to know how do i reset the tpi sensors as red flashing light on now tried saving the new psi on the sat nav menu where it comes up save, but it dosent reset ,be glad for your help . cheers Dave

I run TKCs on my GSA.

Use standard pressure as per manual for road use which from memory is between 2.5 - 3.0 bar.

I drop pressures to 1 bar when going off road.

My front TKC has had a slow puncture since July. I pump it to 3 bar on a Sunday but by Fri night its down to 1 bar after a week of commuting. All fine and dandy. My point being that on road GS is not that sensitive to tyre pressure variance.
