guys i know i've spoken to a few of you about this but here goes .

i think it would be a good idea following the turn outs we have had on the last few ride outs from the north west section of this site to have a weekend away in Wales in spring summer time.
genral idea go friday & satuday night , have a Bar B QUE or something along those lines . have a run out saturday and sunday put in one or two easy lanes like ME, JONO & Tarry in DEC 007 but in genral stay on tarmac .

so all we need is someone to Organizer this event:D
myself and pipster have done a few between us and to avoid it becoming lets wait and see what else someone is doing i was rather hoping for people to put there names forward .
I can help with routes and places to stay at around the Barmouth area which would be a ideal location i think.

but over to you guys in the North West:beerjug::beerjug:

Bump................

Anybody like to help out with this suggestion from Terry.

Also on a separate note we are looking for some volunteers to lead one day rideouts throughout the rest of the year.

All you need to do is think of somewhere decent to maybe aim for at lunchtime and a potentially flexible route there and back .

Suggested start off points ;

Heading North : Knutsford,Windmill Pub? or Chorley Services

We could do with some volunteers from further North to lead a couple of rideouts around North Yorkshire/County Durham.

Heading into Peaks : Congleton or Buxton

Heading South : Stafford Services

Heading into Wales / Shropshire : Little Chef near Vicars Cross or the Broxton Cafe

How about a run out to the Cotswolds or Ludlow / Clee Hill / Malverns area????

Or for a long run what about meeting up with a load of the southern guys down at the Ace Cafe . Slightly boring motorway blast in the morning followed by a nice greasy brunch at the Ace and then a scenic ride back thru Bucks/Oxfordshire/Northamptonshire??? Probably best left for the longer summer days but I am quite happy to lead that .

Lets try to get at least one Sunday and/or Saturday run planned in for each month from March onwards.

Impromptu smaller rides are also worth posting . We had a nice little turnout in November when myself and Phil posted the idea of a Saturday rideout as late as Friday afternoon.

Come on....... like Terry said we need a couple of vlounteers or aren't called Terry, Rob or Phil.

Hopefull this summer will be nicer weather than last years:thumb

Also we are looking for some volunteers to lead one day rideouts.

Rushy/KTM5, I have knowledge of the Barmouth, Dolgellau and Machynlleth areas.
What sort of ride will be needed, Boxer GS-able or 450/650 G(S)X-able?
Have you got a fixed date yet?

Timpo.

Okey dokey. I may be able to help.

I'm not overly keen on leading a road ride due to fixing a pace. But, if we can organize a mild road ride into wales and throw in some nice easy big bike off roading I'm able to help with the organization but will need the expert help of Timpo and Terry ref the lanes. If it warms up does anybody fancy a few fords too :D:D:D.

I may struggle to get away for anything more than a single night due to band commitments.

here is a bunk house i've stayed at last April and i'm going again this april with another bunch of guys .http://www.guesthousessnowdonia.com/accom-bunkhouse.html
it also as a campsite if your up for staying in a tent.. cost was around 12 pound per night, + 5 pound for breakfeast :) for bunk house.
it's just out side the town with lanes not to far away..
The a good few lanes to have ago out for the bigger trail bikes plus if we Do open it up for samller bikes the loads of lanes i can take us on..but very open at the moment..i'd rather kep it to bigger bikes so i do not have to commit to anything;):)

this place is only a B&B but you need to book up asap ..Nigel does get very busy ..up side he is closer to town and as is own BAR ..plus a place to dry your stuff, cost around £30

hope this info helps.:thumb

the a nice curry house in town also if you fancy the Johny Cash record the next day :D:D

Jono,

Only been out for a trip once this year so far as well you know.:dabone

Got a lot going on at the moment and usually getting a fairly regular bike fix by commuting means that I dont ever miss the bike if I dont get out at the weekend.

Going on holiday this week, back soon, and will get some planning done after that . I have a few non biking things going on this year that are basically using up a lot of my passes with me girlie .Will probably miss the Baskerville meet:( , will NOT miss out on the Skye trip though.:thumb . Hope to do the Rydale Rally. But like Phil it'll be mainly one day trips or max 1 night away for me.

Some bits are coming off the bike early next month for powder coating and possibly putting some new shocks on too:bounce1:bounce1. Replacing some of the wiring plus some overdue fluid changes and then hopefully back on the road for the Wirral egg run on the 16th.:clap

Timpo, thanks for the offer mate Are you talking about off road stuff more than road work???? I still haven't got my head around fitting TKCs on or not. I have a brand new unused front Tourance thats waiting to go on (fronts shagged) and my rear Tourance is only 25% worn at the mo'.

Ok then, will try and see what my diaries doing and go from there.

Rushy, stop being a puff :ymca, time to get ya bike muddy :D:D:D

Agree with Terry, it's gotta be a no pogo event, min engine of 600cc.

I like the idea of staying in a warm dry place and going for a curry.

Ride out Saturday (early start) with a bit of off road and go out Saturday night. Gentle road ride next day :nenau

if we get enough people going we can have a few groups , plus is the new dad get is finger out i'll take him out that way and show him the lanes so we can have a tail end charlie on the KTM:D.. hope to have this done end of march:o but in genral nice easy lanes with a water crossing:P
so what i'm saying is i'd like to do a mixture of road and off road if i can.
plus we can have just a road group if we can find a person to lead it who's too chicken to ride on a bit of mud or gravel:D:D come to think of it Rushy got a satnav he never never uses :D:D:D:D he may just want to do road work if he comes..

Chaps.
A road ride with a couple of GS-able lanes should be ok. Over Bomber Headland to Happy Valley, then down to Strata Florida, Soar Y Mynydd (pictured: http://www.tlysau.org.uk/en/blowup1/23094) and one or two fords near Llandovery.:nenau

I'll still need the date of the runs due to shift work rota.

Timpo, will check my diary over the next few days (2 bands so it can take a while to sort out what gigs we've got etc) and I'll get back to you on here.

If you are going over the Soar Y Mynydd tracj from chapel to Youth Hostel the climb/descent could be 'testing' if those on big bikes have little experience. I'm no example (well i am one of inexperience) and I binned it fairly big time descending to the far side towards the youth hostel. Loose under and too much front, simple as that but fist sized rocks.

Would have to leave the trails to timpo and terry :reynoldsbut if you need a hand finding booking or just ringing around its no problem:beerjug:

Tarry, not sure yet as the diaries need to align (like the moon and stars mate :D:D:D).
