Weathers kinda nice - time to ride!

Whilst loading my van with a variety of building supplies today, I thought of the highlands and how nice they'd be on a day such as today...made me sort out a 2 day 'up, camp, back down' again trip for next week....weather permitting. No other bugger seems to want to do an 1100 mile round trip and kip in a tent tho. :rob

Rederic has loosley organised a gathering at Strontian over next weekend, if you fancy joining the small crowd of like minded loons. Take a winter rated bag with you if you are thinking of camping - there will be a chill in the air next weekend  :thumby:

I'd planned on attending meself, but gotta a man coming to take my bike away, so not gonna happen :(

On the plus side, I'm gonna have a good sized wad to wander round the bike shops/gumtree with :D

Thanks, but it will be mid week the following week. Tuesday-Wednesday, Wed-Thur or Thur-Fri

Springtime bike rides on the quieter Dales roads. :thumb:
Seldom do you get to see all 3 peaks clear of claggy cloud.

Today was just shy of 200 miles, never got above 65mph and enjoyed every minute of it.

Got my shake down run in yesterday evening. Was lovely. Almost no traffic. Roads in pretty good condition.

Big Bird Escapes the garage

Took the dust sheets off of Big Bird at the beginning of the week and put her onto commuting duties. Today I put some miles under her wheels and visited Ullapool via the main road and back via some roads without white lines down the middle :D

Just a couple of photo’s, cos I was enjoying the ride too much to stop that often

Another sunny day in Scotland

Took Big Bird out again, into the hills a bit south of home, in the company of another V-twin . . . . .

Just south of Loch Ness, on the smaller, less trafficked roads :D

Took a bimble up to Blairgowrie, then on to Blacklunans via some singletrack, then Glenshee and then Braemar. Had a chip buttie at the Hungry Highlander.

Loads of bikes out today.

Scotland surpassed itself yesterday and today. Quiet roads. Temps up to 20 DegC.
Only the leftover winter grit spoiled a few bends.

Banff Springs hotel provided suitable food and drink.

While Glenshee Ski cafe remains closed till 5 May (I think).

Best of bike riding.

ps - the objective was a morning of 4 wheels fun and games

Full fucking luggage to ride up Glenshee....wtf.

A hotel was mentioned - so that involved 2 overnight bags.

Plus a few snacks & plenty water.

Plus my normal selection of tools - that were needed when the S1000 ring antenna decided to go AWOL so the bike would not switch off.

Necessitating a battery disconnection for each long stop, which included overnight.

Did you have a good ride this weekend?

You're having me on, I've done Europe a number of times with a topbox for two week jaunts, you nip up to Glenshee for an afternoon and you've packed for the road of bones
