Can't really compare them as too me they are like chalk & cheese.

The CB5X was an itch I wanted to scratch and having had a really good scratch I'm seriously thinking of getting a 650 Strom. Latest version is same shape as previous 1k Strom model, has the same limited amount of electronic aids - just non switchable ABS and selectable traction control. The 650 Strom has nearly 50% more power than the CB5X and is only 25bhp shy of the 1k Strom. And its a bit lighter than the 1k Strom, but a bit more portly than the CB5X, but not enough to cause a problem.

didn't you have a strm before? i have a 2017 650 and can say i'm very pleased with it.

I was just passing on information about riders being fined, not commenting on the rights and wrongs of it, so thank you both for your stunning contributions.
 
I have adopted a bit of a precautionary approach to runs.
I popped out a couple of times last summer, when rules were a bit more relaxed. But no runs so far this year unless on Blood Bikes duty.
One wee nagging doubt I have had is; a requirement for the BB as part of the entry, is the completion of a Disclosure Scotland requirement.
If I got a fine and caution this would appear in my next Disclosure and could lead to a tricky conversation and possibly being asked to leave.
So I will bide my time.

Ok, perhaps a fair point:nenau - But I don't believe you had any information to suggest SteveT was not close to home in his local area??

Also, a bit of fresh air to maintain sanity is also important.

My comment was not aimed at SteveT or anyone else. It was purely for information.

Loads of riders come to West Bay every day when not in lockdown. Quite a number have started to return and while it's great to see them, local police are fining them.

Bikes are part of the community here. They even re did the parking and seating area for bikers, right by the harbour and the chip stalls. On a busy day there can be 2-300 arriving throughout the day in the summer months.

As for bikes preserving sanity, they don't call the training CBT for nothing. :D

Have done nearly 1000 miles past week on BB duty. Mostly duallers or motorways in all sorts of weather.
If nothing else keeps the skills level up.
Roll on running around the wee back roads. :D
