, which is a rare thing but a measure of just how wet it was over on East side.
Took a little run out to see how much snow was dumped on the local hills on the day of the gales last week.
The Gairnsheil road looking back towards the Lecht
Rode along this road after the storm at the end of last year and had to try and match the picture I’d taken then . . .

Wow. Stripped bare. Hope it all recovers somehow.
Not on the bike but while hill walking in the Angus Glens yesterday I saw a Wildcat. First time I have seen one in the wild.
I was truly mesmerised watching it.

I think I have this scene with road bike I've ever owned.
First time I've rode it in reverse as I usually come in from the Meggat/St Marys end but this way seems better although you miss out on the view of Talla as you ride down.

From our neck of the woods it's a nightmare to get to as you have no option but to avoid the trip to Edinburgh and around it, hence why I usually only do it once a year.
First ride for 2022. A mere 211 miles to shake off the cobwebs. Sunshine was welcome, but pretty cool. Maximum 13 DegC.
I don’t normally ride at weekends. Stopped for a bite at the Real Food Cafe Tyndrum and when leaving found the main road choked with weegie bikes who all stopped at Green Welly.
I had the road to Dalmally and Loch Awe to myself. Wonderful. One of the best roads in the country.
Tripped over a road closure between Gleneagles and Muthill so enjoyed a diversion on strange country roads.
All in all a good shake down.

Great run on Sat...1st of the year...355 miler fer a toastie! Left at -1.5 white frost 13 and beaming sun by Aviemore to find Ralia shut....brekkie af Simpsons Inverness....avoid the black pudding its shite...
Lunch at Cocoa Skye in the square at Brora....highly recommended...waitress has a luscious arse ..dammned good grub, and back to my new house in the swamps near Meigle at 1800...good day out.

Anyone thinking of paying the loch a visit might like to know you can only access it from the Dava moor road as a small bridge just off of the A939 Nairn-Grantown road has got a bit of a hole in it - no picture taken but I did ride all the way to the bridge to find out why the road is signed as closed. The snow gate shown on google maps are chained shut . . .
