Weathers kinda nice - time to ride!

No problem . . .
Front to back - Standard screen painted matt black inside & out, cheapo ram mount type ball thing above instruments, Pyramid (I think)headlight protector, Puig engine bars, cheapo chinese spots via Honda switch, Oxford heated grips, GIVI hand protectors, DIY switched supplies via a hidden relay box, Honda fork gaitors, home made sump guard, GIVI tank bag, GIVI pannier rails and top box mount (the plates on the pannier rails take home adapted peli cases and soft bags). Finishing off with a scottoiler, DIY rear crap defelctor and a Black Widow end can, so's it can sing properly.

Whole thing for sale on gumtree Moray, if interested :D
Had a look but can't find it Steve. Apparently I can message you (or vice versa) as you're not a "Premium Member"?

Stopped for a Magnum choc ice in Moffat on Saturday afternoon on my long way home from North Sea ferry after enjoying 2,500 miles in Europe. A lovely end to a safe trip over 16 days.

Spa Francorchamps classic cars, Luxembourg roads, Harz hairpins, Hamburg U Boat, Munster Tank Musem.

What‘s not to like.

I don’t get out with my older lad very often these days, but we sprung a short hop to Loch Awe.
Snacked in power station visitor centre, then he needed fuel at The Welly.

Boy, was warm today.

As my holiday trip is over it was bike wash afternoon. I’ll find my oily rag tomorrow.

ps - I looked up at a small single engined plane coming south over Loch Awe and blow me, a second plane was below him behind the trees almost skimming the water. Gone in a blender . Looked like a cameo paint job. And, my lad was leading and clocked a Typhoon coming off Loch Ea4n and heading south.

Been looking at the out going V-Strom 650 - sort bike that has had any bugs (not that there were many in the 1st place) sorted over its 20+ years production run.

Another machine tweaking my interest is the F700GS. Machine weight and height are beginning to figure large in any bike choices I make and the 700GS could well end up as a replacement for both the NC and my F8GS (swore I'd never be without one of them, but things move on :().

It was my birthday yesterday (matching double figures) so took the day off work and headed up to Braemar.

Fife and Perthsire were a wee bit cold and cloudy, but as soon as I was past the ski center, the sun was almost blazing. Dash showed 21 degrees c in Braemar.

Was a nice day out on the scooter despite not getting a cup of tea and some chips at the Hungry Highlander as its being "refurbished".

Next time.

Loads of German two wheelers heading north & south, along with heaps of Dutch registered cars and vans.

Loony tunes time on the NC500 has arrived

I’d been tied up with stuff most of the day and just needed a break so pulled the bike out around 6pm for a quick spin.

Headed through Glen Devon then a U turn at A9 Gleneagles. A mere 66 miles or so but quiet roads made it a good run.

But Wow! It was hot. Up to 28 in the evening is crazy. Down to 23 when I got home at 7.30.

I was testing a route for an upcoming group ride when the owner of this lovely V12 Aston pulled in next to me. He was also checking out a potential route for his car club. Very narrow tracks with hardly any passing places, rather you than me in that I said. What’s the worst that can happen he smiled. Got to admire his spirit – and that car – what a beaut and what a noise it made.

Back from 5 days touring, including bits of the NC500.
Good bits,
Awesome scenery. Just epic. Motorhomes letting me pass on single track roads - better than in England. The bike was superb and returned 58mpg overall (some days 64mpg.) Brilliant weather.
Bad bits.
Terrible, terrible food in the hotels - have they not heard of vegetables? One very poor hotel (Arrochar.) The motorway slog up and back from Merseyside.

Guzzi in for a bit of work.

Via a 200 mile route and hotel obviously

Essential chores dealt with. Forecast good. Alarm set.

Dropped the clutch at 0650h in brilliant sunshine. Met some mist up Whitburn way, but quickly ran through it over Breich.

To Dalmellington via Moffat, where the tourists were just waking up. Enjoyed the A702 of course plus the roller coaster to New Cumnock then Dalmellington.

They’re planting thousands of trees to try and hide the huge transformer station 3 miles N of Dalmellington. Still lots of windmill work going on with a big shanty town near New Cumnock.

A rare treat of a Wee Breakfast and a Big Coffee. Bargain of the week.

Returned mostly same way, skipping Moffat. A couple of white vans on A702 stopped me beating my “best time” (and I’m not a knee down racer).

Brilliant 200+ ride. Got home before things got too hot.IMG_2239.jpegIMG_2241.jpegIMG_2243.jpeg
