Weathers kinda nice - time to ride!

A wee borders birl yesterday with folk from the local IAM group. Tweed valley, St Mary's Loch, Megget and Talla and a stop off at the Wee Crook (no reference to current SNP woes :D) It's very good but ... 1. Take a puck as the gravel is quite deep in the parking area. 2. Take cash - when we called they were having tech problems with their tap n go payment system. Otherwise :thumb2

You know those days when you just want to ride!
No destination, just ride for the sake of riding!
Well, yesterday was one of those days, so guess what? I just went out and rode

It did rain occasionally.

Sunday 300+ miles to Ullapool. Pretty wet on A87 for a while after Cluanie cafe. Then again after Poolewe.
Had 3 Danes tail me for over 20 miles into Ullapool. Where it was a very pleasant evening.

Caledonian Hotel has tidied up the rear car park. Nice job.

Monday 300+ miles home via Cawdor, Grantown, Dinnet, Fettercairn, Blairgowrie. Avoiding the recent road works.

Temp dropped to 10 degrees at Lecht summit then up to 21 soon after.

Was interesting watching the rain clouds moving fast. Road changing from wet, dry, damp over and over again. Some places had never seen a drop.

Silly me forgot a phone charger mains plug, so had a dead phone today. And found my BMW socket was not working for my cigarette lighter adapter. No Monday pics.

I've just been out on local, Fife backroads trying out the new toy. It's 10 years since I test rode an MT when they first came out. I'd forgotten just how much of a weapon and MT-09 is.

Attended a funeral in Dundee today. It was a rock affair with a live band.

Without doubt, the best funeral I've ever attended and I wasn't the only biker either.

And yes, the band really did kick off with Highway to Hell! :D

A warm day. I was sweltering, even with the lightweight/ vented jacket.

Popped into the Samye Ling and then lunch at Pelosi's in Langholm. An enormous plate of ham n eggs n chips! I could barely stagger back to the bike!

And you never took a photy of your grub! Are you new here? :D

An interesting choice of place to eat. For many years, Langholm was a culinary wasteland. Other establishments are also available these days.

Imagine a large pile of chips, 3 or 4 slabs of ham and a perfectly fried egg. Good grub, just a lot more than I was expecting!

I wasn't complaining Mike. The grub was fine, being what i asked for from the menu. I was just a bit challenged by the sheer volume! Pelosi's is fine and easy to park at: the bikes just go up on the wide pavement area adjacent to the caff. Besides, it's a bit of a tradition to stop there and there's not that many proper Tally caffs left these days so I like to patronise those that are left! :D I didn't notice any others but then again, I wasn't looking!

Little trip out to take a look at the new Gairnsheil bridge . . . . and a nearby track :D

Saturday night at Granton on Spey with a 370 mile round trip.

Weather was surprisingly good on the Saturday with only an hour or so of light rain. Got off lucky considered the forecast. Motorway up to Perth but via Braemar after that.

Hotel was nice but the food was disappointing.

That looks braw. I'll need to take a run over to check it out.

Where's that track you were on, presumably on one of the local estates?

I did that “Scottish National Road Rally” thing at weekend.

Almost 700 miles with a night in Ullapool.

Just join the dots over 23 control points. SatNav gets you there.

Was really annoyed when Sunday dawned wet and very windy while southern parts basked in sunshine.

Eventually hit 24 degrees near Perth on way home.

Some roads were Wonderful when I had them to myself.

A tree across the road south of Ullapool was a small surprise. I squeezed past.

And the old banger rolled over 44,444 miles along the way.
