Weathers kinda nice - time to ride!

280 miles on B and lesser roads last 2 days.

What a fabulous machine, and amazing weather.

This makes me think I should engage with this thread more often. My brother-in-law and I did pitifully few miles on our respective bikes last year. We both recognise that we're busy with the day jobs and have our respective other commitments (family, other hobbies), but in our case we've found it's important to plan the time, rather than make a last minute decision. Now that we've started doing this, we're getting out more, and I have already surpassed last years total mileage* and we're only in May... We're not doing big multi-day tours, just afternoons out her and there.
I need to take some picture to share maybe, but yesterday was a leisurely** 220 mile circular route from Merseyside through and around the backroads of North Wales, taking in some of the more common 'destinations', but linking them with maybe lesser travelled roads. Any road marked 'Not Suitable for HGVs' was fair game for exploration!!! We both remarked on how few bikes we saw on our route, other than when we stopped at (eg) Langollen, Betws-y-coed, Abergele etc which all seemed to have plenty of folk there.
I know some people will baulk at the thought of heading out to Langollen or Betws on a Bank Holiday afternoon, however, each of our stops had a purpose - in most of the cases one or the other of us had a family connection to the stopping point, and each stopping point resulted in a conversation which may lead to other relevant destinations to visit.
* not a particularly high bar unfortunately, so possibly not noteworthy other than to myself....
**did I mention that we're on 125s? Leisurely is the only option.... :D

Got up fairly early today and hit the road - and BOATS - on the Dr Big before it got a) too hot and b) too much traffic.
I had a plan in mind and headed across Cranborne Chase and then took the old near-10 mile Shaftesbury Drove track back to Salisbury.
Weather closed in around Shaftesbury as its quite high up there - about 800` altitude - but it was quite cool riding into the low cloud and seeing it swirl over the hill tops when on the drove.

More motor bicycling later today hopefully or if not tomoz.

Sportax Racing near Boston have a demo weekend this weekend and I've been meaning to try an AJP PR7 for a while...

Needless to say the suspension was VERY good with the optional Ohlins 'Gold' edition.

……and out again this evening for a shake-down run on the CX-Periment in readiness for the annual Rat and Survival rally next month.

Luckily Loomies was closed so I wasn’t tempted to sample any of their dreadful coffee!

Off to Devon for the day tomorrow on the GSA..

Motorcycling.

Left the hotel in Reims this morning, it was already 22 degrees at 8am.
At the Tunnel at 10:30 it was hitting 34 degrees.
The ride home from Ashford to Fareham was fairly toasty.

With an outstanding weather forecast I was keen to get out today to shake down my shock that I’d removed as it seemed to be a bit oily after my Spain trip. But an unexpected child minding task delayed the kick off till late afternoon.

Headed west to Garelochhead. Silly me forgot this is holiday Monday so after dodging the commuters heading home I discovered thousands heading south on the A82 down Loch Lomond to Glasgow.
Fortunately I was heading north and enjoyed the A817 up and over, back and forth a few times.

To avoid retracing my steps I went home the long way round via Crianlarich and Callander.

Roads very quiet and enjoyed the evening sun on my back throwing a long shadow much of the time.

I also rolled my ODO over to another round number.
