website builder software after iWeb demise

Hi all, I originally built my website on MS frontage express, and then Apple iWeb, both of which are defunct.

I even loaded snow leopard on a spare disk, to see if iWeb would install, but to no avail.

After a recent iMac loss, all my files were backed up except those on the desktop, where I kept the website.

Any how, I have all the old files and I want a simple web site program, so I can copy and paste the info from the old files onto a new site.

I have tried rapid weaver 6 , too complicates, and also google web builder, can't copy and paste.

Anyone know of any simple wysiwyg site builders that are either free or very cheap, and more importantly, where I can just copy and paste?

I still use iWeb on Yosemite and publish to my hard disk then FTP it to the website I have hosted by Heart Internet (a hosting company based in Nottingham)

This works for me, although iWeb is getting a bit dated now. A friend of mine in the know uses wordpress and you can purchase templates to load your content to. Maybe worth a look.

+1! Very user friendly, and loads of "how to's" on you tube if you ever get stuck. So simply even i managed to get my head around it. Don't be fooled by the "blogging" impression that it was designed for, the posting/replying boxes can be turned off easily and give you a very easy to understand site.

I use webplus x7 from serif.... its great nice and easy... ive used it for years and have built several sites for people i know... its so easy

like weebly but nicer to use, uses HTML5 drag and drop. live view to test it.... you can build a simple site in 30 minutes.

Apologies for jumping in here, I have a similar question and it didn't seem worth starting a new thread.

I have several Wordpress websites which I have modified for different business uses. Until quite recently, I was using a very elderly version of Dreamweaver to create features that weren't included with the original WP template. Eventually, Dreamweaver stopped working and refused to reload, so I managed without - laboriously copying, pasting and then editing chunks of code from other pages. I'm missing Dreamweaver, but can't justify the expense of buying a new copy for the relatively simple design features I would use. I wondered if any of you had opinions on any of the freebie editors, such as Bluefish or BlueGriffon?

Hi all,

in the end I managed to load iWeb off an ilife disk, and all is now well.

I know it is just a crabby home website, but being an old dog, and new tricks and all that.
