A few years ago, i bought several domains, and ran then via.. www.easyspace.co.uk at the time i had the domain registered witht them and leased web space from them. I still have the domains registered with them, but i think their webspace has got a little expensive of late.

I am looking for around 200mb of webspace, with CGI, pearl capability, front page extension compatibility would be nice too.

Can anyone reccomend any companies for cheap reliable hosting?

Cheers. rocks..

I do hope that you're looking for PERL and not a round shiny semi-precious jewel.

beware cheap hosting

make sure your monthly bandwidth quota is decent..

check to see what price it is when u exceed your limit..

it can get very pricey..

a 500 meg hosting space site for 20 a month is no bloody use if it only gives 1 gig per month bandwidth allocation..

get as much as you can..

know what you are hosting.. and how 'heavy' your site will be

ie no big graphics and videp clips. that wil be downloaded over and over again..

find out what the serevr is based on.. unix or windows

unix is better.. impo

if there is extras.. see if there are costs to enable them..

be wary..

how many email accounts?
does it give free cgi suppport? (handy for forms and emails etc)
does it give you stats and data on hits
do they promote you on search engines etc?

where is it hosted..
exactly? us or europe?
what sort of connection do they have to the web? T1 ?

what happens if you want to close it.. are u tied into a 12 month contract?etc etc

just use your cop on and be wary..

but there are plenty of good hosting sites out there..

have a look at www.seanfitz.com goto 'resources' and check out the 'internet tools and stuff'..

some handy links there

It offers a lot more than 1 gigabyte.

When it come to Web hosting, there are many companies out there making a lot of false promises… you get what you pay for…

A quality service costs money but, at the end of the day, I suppose it all depends on how important your up time and site performance is to you… :(
