Romantic gesture backfires on groom

TABUK: A slap in the face was all a young man received when he attempted to add a romantic touch to his wedding reception in Tabuk recently.
The bridegroom told his bride to come out on the stage wearing only one shoe so he could put the other on her foot in front of their guests. But his mother was so outraged when she saw him stooping before the bride. The old lady then hit her son’s face with one of her own shoes because she felt he had brought shame on their family’s name. The bridegroom took the punishment in silence and then left for Malaysia for his honeymoon with his bride, Al-Okaz daily reported on Thursday.
