Knocked off a bit early n got the bike out for a wee run, it started quite predictably, got to the end of the road and took a left, few miles later a single track beckoned.

Took a full 1/2 hour for me to get into the run properly, but then it all clicked.

Till I got stuck with the local traffic.

Just about the end of the road.

Bimble track over, it was nice to feel the grip of some asphalt under the tyres again.

Beer n a wee dram now :thumb2

Lovely scenery, the pic of the asphalt, was that hand held or have you a way of fixing the camera to the bike? :nenau

RAM man camera mount, you can see it in the first pic.:thumb2
The rest of the pics, that don’t show the bike, were taken from this position. Why take a tripod when I have a perfectly good bike. Camera was my trusty Pentax Optio, I did take my good Cannon but forgot to take fully charged batteries. :D

'I did take my good Cannon '.

What do you do about lens protection Gordon. Even a midge can make a mess - ok,hopefully it'll clean - but what about grit and stones?:thumb2

I guess on an SLR you could fit a skylight filter, always have one on mine, cheaper to replace than the lens. Not sure if you can get them for smaller compacts tho?

Just looking at RAM mounts, mmmm, not the most straightforward, looks like there's a thousand and one permatations, still, will keep me quiet for a while :augie

I've covered thousands of miles with the Pentax mounted there and yes, every now and again the lens does get covered in goo but a quick wipe soon clears it. Its also dust proof/water proof and shatter proof, basically its GSer proof. :thumb2
Steve (RamMan) generously donated some of these mounts, I cant remember whether I won it in a raffle, bid on it in an auction or just bought it from the event organiser (drink may have been involved :augie) but it only cost a few ££ and is pretty straight forward to set up and adjust.
Filter or not, don’t think I would ever mount my Cannon there whilst riding.

good idea :thumb:clap
I have a Canon SD950IS 12.1 meg pix. I intend buying one of those waterproof diving cases assuming there is a mount point on the case.
Waterproof, shockproof and GSer proof too I hope.:thumb

Hi Gordon, Yes it may well have been a GOTC or similar Tosser event. This year there's 2 of em in the charidee kit, so keep yours peeled.

The camera handlebar mount is RAM-B-149Z-C1 and looks this this

U-bolt has 1", 1.25" u-bolts and RAP-319 shim and camera stud is 1/4" C mount thread (1/4" - 20 tpi) ...:augie add a cut piece of rubber pad between camera and stud base :thumb

Stunning picture of some scallops and black pud.:drool
Views ain't bad either.

Mate was out diving and managed a bounty of about 300 scallops. Black pub is from the local butcher, better than that Stornoway stuff :thumb2

Its the Kinlochourne road jibdel.
A82 to Invergarry then head west along the A87, Kyle road for about 5 miles, then left again 22 miles single track past the Tomdoun hotel.
The loch in the pics is Loch Quoich, some decent fishing to be had there.
Its about 110 mile round trip that takes a good 3 hours for me, add another 5 hrs round trip from Glasgow.
I try to get up there once or twice a year.

Thanks for the write up.It's a crackin' road that.Feels like heading to end of nowhere! The Tomdoun Hotel used to be a great place to stop over for a night though some years since I've been there. Great piccies, brought back some happy memories!
