Would you be up for a wee run? Do you think we could get a few to go?

I know the owners well and could ask for a good rate if i have some numbers.
Great wee tracks and roads round the lough and up the Tourmakeedy mountains. You can have a good look at the boxes then :thumb2
Failing that im sure we could hook up for another wee day run somewhere like last time.

That looks like a grand wee spot. How many can they accommodate? :thumb2

I would certainly be up for a wee run, depending on dates etc and I would safely say that Jockser plus a few others would be up for it too. No change there then. :)

Let's see how things pan out and we'll see if we can get this one going. :thumb2

Not sure how maney it will sleep but i will ask, its a fair size and its right on the lough shore on a hilside overlooking the lough which is massive at about 27,000 acres. Loads of wee tracks and roads over the mountains. Stunning spot.

PS if anyone is interested in a weekend trip to here let me know when this would suit you and i'll see if i can get us in
Ron

Anyone fancy a wee trip to lough mask?
Some links and info to follow, just a thought at the moment Aidan will put some links on that i sent him earlier.
Cheers
Ron

Stop at John J Burke and Sons in Clonbur if you are looking for somewhere to eat...Michelin recommended.
Going to a wedding there next weekend but can't take the bike...:(

Ok,
I stay at this place when fishing and i love the area, its always been a place i would love to take the ride a spin over the mountains and tracks etc. If you get the weather its stunning and the pubs nice and comfy. I will find out when it suits the bar to accomodate a pack of egits ( if they can at all) and get prices etc. Any tossers live near here and maybe scout a few tracks and roads over the hills and far away?
Its a great run from the north as it is if you take all the scenic routes. heres a small link of the bar and places. i'll find more and update it. When would suit all interested?

Why not?

. . near Tourmakeady
Could do i suppose but it does rain a lot here with the mountains all round. Im sure i could suss somewhere to pitch up. The bar is on the tourmakeedy side of the lake on the shore, views over the lake and mountains from the lounge are spectacular.
Oh and just so you know this is also Monster midgy territory in summer!!!

I have merged the original idea and posts with Ron from another thread into this one.

We would be up for a run and overnight depending on when it would be organised.

Can you find out how many they can accommodate and the rate per person per night please Ron?

:)

Dates permitting, I might be up for it. Keep me posted Ron.

Promised meself I would explore our own wee Island a bit this year!

ok

I'd be interested in a weekend trip........how about the June bank holiday weekend.......just a thought......or whenever......no interest in camping, have all the tee-shirts......getting old I guess:rob

Right end of June seems good for most. What date is the June Bank Holiday?
Is Sat morn Depart and overnight stay then home on Sunday afternoon ok
Or would you like to go on the friday and stay for 2 nights?
I will find out if they can take us or even how many they can take.
I will call Frank and barbera today and let you all know.
GIVE ME THE B/HOLIDAY DATE PLEASE.
Ron

MIDGES . .

. . camp only if WFX is for wind @ force4+, site lake shore, no facilities whatever. Anyway Mandy has truckloadsa that Avon barrier stuff.

Over the hill to Aghagower from Tourmakeady, single track, black top, a nice run - ask Bin or GerryC.

Will i go for the last weekend June?

I'll go with the flow...so to speak.....I'd be up for two nights if others are doing the same.......whatever.....I'm easy. Have a wedding at the end of June but its on Thursday 25th and would be home by Friday night. So on this particular weekend I could only travel on the Saturday.

Know what you mean, loads to see on our doorstep!

Anyway i have contacted the bar and she has 3 rooms free, on Sat 27th,
2 of which has 1 double and 2 single beds and the other 1 has 3 singles. There might be a further 2 rooms available but wont know till start of june. A cottage that sleeps 6 may be available and is only 6 or 7 hundred meters away from the pub, but depends on how many wants to go.
its 30 euro pp pn b&b or 50 euro for b&b and evening meal.
Would you like to go on these dates or will i ask about later in the year and we can try and get the whole place to ourselves?
If this is ok i'll take the 3 single room for 3 of us.
Cheers
ron
