Hi folks I need to shift some very stubborn weeds from our paved back garden area. Anyone got any recommendations, it needs to be animal friendly as we have 2 dogs that I don't want to kill off :D

Please note that I am not planning on putting it in Aidan's tea :green gri

TIA

Ordinary thick Bleach is quite good Mandy Mind you I need to get out and do it to my paths but as always it's up to eyes time here!

roundup and just put dogs in for the night. i do it all time and never had any issues

we went and got one of them flame thrower things that use gas cartidges, after we blasted them a few times they just didnt come back.
Same reason as you, we have dogs and didnt trust any of the weed killers offered.

Have fun

My old flame...........

Was going to do it before we go to Kerry when the dogs are away to the kennels.

Can you imagine me in charge of one of those  :D

My dogs have free run out the back and I don't want anything that will harm them.

It'll keep himself out of your hair for hours..:aidan

It's green, so he'll always know to only us it in the garden..:D

It's plastic, so he wont hurt himself or the dogs..:thumb2

+1 for bleach or roundup as dogs away for a wk it should'nt be an issue, cheap gallons of bleach in Lidl, hose down yard an gave the big fella a good stiff deck scrubber & bleach an tell him stuck in....when you see the gravy lashin outa him that should do the trick...brings up the concrete/flags nice and white

cleaning & fitness hints....no charge :D

be careful, there can be a lot of collateral damage from bleach run-off in other parts of the garden.

With Roundup or Pathclear you can direct small amounts of spray where it's needed. I think you have to use a lot of bleach to get the same effect and it's hard to control where it ends up !

Do Not Use Bleach

Some years ago I was given a fish tank, it was a bit grubby so I decided to clean it with bleach.

After cleaning I put the tank in the bath and left the tap running into the now clean fish tank. Went out for a couple of hours with the tap still running.

When I returned home I set-up the new crystal clear tank with new aquarium goodies and transferred the fish, the kids were delighted and I was the best Daddy in the world.:clap

Later that evening I was doing a bit of study in the dinning room when I noticed that the fish were all dead and floating in the tank.:blast:blast

Lesson learned..........:rob:rob

Vortex works, even after the flush

As the dogs will be away from the Friday morning until the Monday evening I'd be happy to go with something really agressive against the weeds. The yard is enclosed and fully brick paved so there is no danger of collateral damage to plants, grass etc.

So, what's the strongest/most agressive weed killer generally available?

Oh, and I'll see you in Kerry Brian........................... :green gri

Another for roundup pro, Get it at a farm shop in litre bottles, mix and away you go! I,ve just this minute finished doing my front and back garden and have just got to keep the dogs away from it tonight!:aidan
