so it'll be a 5.30ish start from Streatley.

Sorry, I'm going to have to make this 6pm now - I've got to be in Bath until 4pm

Would love to but hobbling at the moment after spraining my ankle whilst crashing the VFR last week.

Maybe next time.

Hmm, Blowzorn can't make it either now.

As it's going to be a bit of a rush for me getting back from Bath to Streatley just to head back again - I'll be doing the route in reverse from Avebury to Streatley on my way home :)

If anyone was planning to meet up at Streatley at 6pm txt me on 07754 090099 and we'll sort something out

Wednesday 10th August

I'm hoping to get to the weekly bike meeting at Avebury this Wednesday (see http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44788) going from Streatley to Avebury via the Ridgeway.

It takes around 2 hours so I'm aiming for a 6pm(ish) start from Streatley. Following the format from last months ride - a quick drink at Avebury followed by other local Byways (depending on time/light available) then a blat back to Reading down the A4/M4

My mobile number is 07754.090099

cant do this week ,me and G/F are house sitting all week ,just popping home morning and eve on way to and from work to check emails

When do you plan to do the Ridgeway again?

Hmm, I couldn't really say for certain :(

Wednesdays are usually a good bet because of the Avebury bike meet, but I don't have a fixed pattern of when I work in Bath or in Reading, so like tonight, I usually have to suggest them at short notice. I tend to avoid weekends for the ridgeway since far more people use it then.

Perhaps you could suggest some dates you could make and we'll see if I (and anyone else) can fit in with them ?

I've had a message from Tim - he can't get there till 6.30, I'm not certain who is turning up other than Tim, so I'll be at Streatley for 6pm still but spend 1/2 hour exploring a couple of offshoot byways and loop back to the start.

If your thinking of doing it again in coming weeks let me know please...I would be up for this if invited... on a DRZ. I work in Oxford. Cheers

I'm sure there will be a couple more outings before October when the traffic restrictions come into play.

Keep an eye on this thread (subscribe?).

All welcome - even DRZs ;)

Wednesday 24th August

It takes around 2 hours so I'm aiming for a 6pm(ish) start from Streatley. Following the format from the last ride - a drink/burger at Avebury followed by other local Byways (depending on time/light available) then a blat back to Reading down the A4/M4

I am tempted - did a couple of stretches of Ridgeway last evening before it rained and I was OK - better than that - I enjoyed it immensely. It was bone dry and I stayed out of the ruts. Chances are I will join you next week. This has prompted me to think about engine crash bars - I have the cute little plastic protectors that are easy on the eye - Martin suggested something more substancial but not BMW instead Nippy Norman's variety - any opinions?

By the way - good meeting on Wednesday - all nice folk and some good tales too - evryy RNLI station - that's impressive.

And now you know I live within a gnats of the Ridgeway I am happy to host a meeting/ride - start/finish at my place - the pub in the village serves decent beer.

I may be a little late getting there - just found out they want me at work in Bath tomorrow - I'm going to see if I can leave work at 4pm though...

anyone other than Chris planning on being there? - if not, to save me rushing back - Chris, are you ok to postpone until Thursday evening if need be ?

Go on then, Count me in.
Not got a problem whether it's Wednesday or Thursday... Except there will be burger in Avebury on a Thursday!
