Noticed the ominous sign of oil underneath my 800 yesterday. On quick inspection it seemed to be coming from the crankcase breather hose that exits at the bottom of the bike, I'm hoping that is what the hose is. Ok so it was warm yesterday and the bike is outside under a cover in direct sunlight but surely that can't cause oil evaporation? My old Ducati 748R used to weep oil whilst it idled but we are not talking about an alomst race engine here. Any ideas?

On further examination, it looks like the breather hose is not from the crankcase but from the safety vavle on the fuel tank. Sorry to mislead everyone. Still does not explain why it should weep an oily residue though.

Excess fuel just picked up a bit of general crap along the way?
