I was taking my bike for the mot today, sadly it stopped working on the way, the fuel pump wasn’t working, I’ve removed the relay and can get the fuel pump to run, but it won’t fire, lack of a spark as well, the hall sensor was replaced a year a go, any ideas, it’s a 2000 1150 single spark

Were you riding when it stopped, did you turn handlebars. If so it's the ignition wiring always breaks eventually, easy to replace and in stock from most BMW dealers

I was in a straight line when it stopped, I’ve wiggled all the wires, no difference, the rid unit isn’t lit up apart from the clock, but the starter turns if that’s any help, just finished after a few hours

probably a broken or damaged wire over the headstock - common problem on the bike as the harness is often too tight so wears eventually.

Thanks for all the advice I’ve traced it back to the side stand switch, few hours with a multi meter and all plugs for everything else cleaned
