Weird smell...

On the right hand side of the bike are the two exhaust pipes. These get hot.
Really ? :P
Add WD-40 to the surface of these and you get one unholy stench.
... metallic parts such as the wheels, frame... :augie never thought of cleaning the exhaust pipe. Must think about it next time

What, you have to pay when they do BMW recall under warranty ?
and then tell you it's just the dirt / WD40 on the radiator
That is another smart idea, after cleaning the exhaust pipe spray some WD40 on the radiator
How shiny you're bike must be guys...
:1/10

i get this smell i thought i had traced it to the scottoiler putting to much oil on and iit flicking off the front sprocket then dripping onto the downpipe and burning off when i turnd the oiler down a bit it seems to have stopped. Then again if you dont have a scottoiler

No, but who says the smell is warranty work? If you send them off a mission to locate a smell that turns out to be just dirt burning on the hot engine parts they will charge you handsomely. :D

As an aside I got a very strong smell of brakes burning the other day. Turns out it was the car in front. I pulled along side the woman driving it, at the traffic lights and informed her that her handbrake might be still on. She took a look and in a suitably gormless manner said 'Oh yeah, silly me. How did you know?' :blast I said "I've been breathing in what's left of your handbrake for the last quarter mile"
