I'm reassembling my 2012 R1200GS (Camhead/K25) after replacing rear main shaft seal. Got the transmission mounted up and the clutch push rod installed, and now I'm trying to figure out what this odd washer is that showed up on the floor when I was taking everything apart. When I first found it I tested it on a few things and concluded it fit on the clutch slave cylinder. Now that I'm reassembling everything I'm not so sure.

It fits perfectly inside the slave, and has a hole that is just the right size for the pushrod. But I'm skeptical as to whether that's where it belongs or not - it doesn't show up on the parts fiche diagram for my bike.

Anyone know if there's a washer like this on the slave cylinder?

I can't upload any pics, but here's a link to pics in a Box folder:

1. shot of the oddball washer
2. shot of the washer sitting in the clutch slave cylinder - fits perfectly.
3. parts diagram of my 2012 Camhead clutch actuator - no washer in sight.

Thanks for any tips/help.

There is no washer on the slave cylinder.... it looks to me like it’s the washer used on the exhaust valve flap motor mounted above the starter motor . No need to thank me :D

I’ve spent 32 years taking apart and then putting back together BMW’s on an almost daily basis so I should know by now :D
