www.boycottscotland.com, was launched after the decision to free the lockerbie bomber.
It urges Americans: “Don't travel to Scotland or do business there (or in the United Kingdom in general) and don't buy any British or Scottish products.”

if he's got 3 months to live, he should be dead around the 21 November.
I'm willing to bet he'll still be going at Xmas :mmmm

No surprise re the boycott. Well done, Kenny :beerjug:

Edit: Scotland will now become a mecca for Libyan tourists though so it's not all bad news

Cant help thinking that we are obviouly not seeing the big picture here:nenau

It just doesn't make sense?

Col:)

Who needs the Yanks anyway. There were hundreds in paris following the tour de france. It was nice to see so many in a country they werent' invading for a change.

so what you're telling me is the streets of Scotland and the buses of Edinburgh particularly won't be crowded out by those horrid, nasally f'cking yanks all claiming some historical right to our land all the while dressed in "McDonalds" tartan and swamping the pavements (or is that sidewalks) with their fat ar5es and copious bags of shopping stuffed with tartan trinketry....

.......:duno ...................feck 'em I say.............Insha'Allah ......:oonyack

There are 2 types of Americans: The red-neck xenophobic type (who don't know where Scotland is anyway) and the educated ones (who realise that it's the politicians who are the w@nkers) :augie Guess which ones wont be visiting Scotland? :clap

America knows that the Lockerbie bombing was state-sponsored, but weren't up for pursuing Libya - just one man??

The Americans should be asking their own government why that was.

(I always thought that McGrahey was a Scottish name anyway?)

Al :)

I did wonder why they locked up the guy behind Liquorice Allsorts, I quite like them myself...

The Americans should -
1. Take a good long look at 'Camp X Ray', untried prisoners and state sponsored torture before taking the moral high ground against anyone, and
2. Ask if it was wrong to send Megrahi back, why was it right for President Obama to meet with and shake tha hand of Gadaffi? Surely if Megrahi is guilty (and I think it is still an 'if'), then Gadaffi must have sanctioned the attack? He did after all pay millions of dollars of compensation to the victims. Could it be because there are, as one American commentator said today, dozens of US firms queueing up to do business with the newly squeaky clean Lybian regime?

Have they no concept of double standards at all, and does the whole thing not just smack of international big business and politics, rather than really being about the perpetrator. And as far as the innocent victims and their families are concerned, I suspect that for all the politicians involved, regardless of nationality, unfortunately their needs come way down the list, whatever they might say to the contrary for the cameras.....

Rant over:thumb2 I'm no conspiracy theorist but for me as a rational and impartial observer, there are too many unanswered questions and too many of the aforementioned double standards.....

Who needs the Yanks anyway.

Scotland may one day.

When a truely independant Scotland no longer takes the English pound to help pay for amongst other things, free prescriptions, free healthcare for the eldery and free university.

Non of this would have happened if they'd just hung the twat when he was convicted.

Obama has got it right critise in public and make millions from the oil deal, 270 lives versus the biggest oil reserves in Africa...

you don't have to be a genius and he gets to blame the sweaties for letting the guy out...

double genius...

have the oil pass the blame.....:blast

A lot of Americans aren't exactly world renowned for being long-sighted and seeing the "big picture". I'm sure a big percentage of the Americans complaining about this couldn't even point out Scotland on a world map if you narrowed it down for them and told them it was in Europe. And I seriously reckon that a large percentage of the same people would vote to "nuke all their sorry arses". World peace - Redneck style. :mmmm

If they want to make the world or the US a better / safer place, they'd be better off putting some pressure on their own Government to close Camp X Ray, adopt a better attitude in Iraq etc before squealing about the Scottish authorities letting out early a man who will probably be dead in 3 months anyway.

If the yorkshire ripper was being held in a scottish prison would they be letting him walk free if he became ill?
