Like most people in this country, was not sure what was the best decision (the polls are about 50/50), but it was OUR decision, the merikans and westminster had no vote and I think we did the right thing all things considered, there are very few people in this country who believe that he acted alone or if at all, he was a patsy at best. We've got the merikans boycoting us now, which is a bit rich when our soldiers are fighting along side them? Feck em...bring our boys home.

The blowing up of the Pan-Am plane was most likely in retaliation against the Americans for their navy shooting an Iranian airliner out of the sky with loss of life some months earlier.

Don't hear Americans shouting about that as an atrocity.:confused:

Hmmm...if you mean 'Friends' as in someone who expects you to do exactly as they say, without question, every time - and who will expect you to quail at the very thought of incurring their displeasure - then you've picked the right Country to have as a 'Friend'.

I'd choose mine a little more carefully, Trippy. They are good acquantances who we work with often, definitely not 'Friends'.

Hypocrisy

Am incandescent with rage about the behaviour of labour and tory, but especially labour, politicians in Scotland over the Megrahi business.
They'd be willing to bow down to the bully boys with the big money, pervert our justice system which incorporates compassion and the concept of "fairness" which is integral to the Scottish psyche and culture (taking a step back in time of 200 years in the process from the point of civilised behaviour, to the mentality of lynch mobs) and prevent a small but significant step towards future world peace - for what?
1) to score points against the SNP government and
2) for the short term financial gain of not losing some American tourism. I, for one, would not wish to live in a Scotland which would give up it's humanity and tradition for fairness in such a manner. Talk about selling your birthright for a mess of pottage!
And who does McConnell think he is telling the world that the people of Scotland don't back McCaskill's position? The people of Scotland voted him and his ilk out of office. He demonstrably has no bloody idea about what we think and want. Ian Gray, Tavish Scott and wee Jock McConnell all back stabbing Mr MacAskill......what a parcel o Rogues in a Nation. Sold this time not for English gold but American Oil

I'm proud of Kenny Macaskill and proud to be Scottish and proud we have a government at long last that stands up to huge pressure and blackmail from our "American Friends."

Feckin arseholes were quick enough to shout for releasing NI 'murderers'. Not too keen when Americans start getting killed, are they?
